Program notes: 'Wrath' was commissioned and premiered by Bo Atlas at the
Great Plains Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference May 18th, 2024 in
Kearney, Nebraska. The composer studied euphonium for four years with
Atlas and has collaborated on several compositions for both solo tuba and
euphonium repertoire and tuba euphonium ensemble repertoire. The
piece was inspired by a conversation that the composer had with Atlas
about how in a lot of Disney movies, the best songs are the "villain songs"
which inspired the composer to write a villain song for tuba.
